“Spirituality is the greatest of God’s gifts”
- ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
Assembly Resources: Primary
Unity: "Ye are all the fruits of one tree"
The following presentation introduces the Bahá’í Faith and its core concept of ‘unity’. It includes a visualisation exercise, a song and an activity that encourages children to reflect on the way that as a garden is more beautiful because of the diversity of its flowers and trees, so mankind is enhanced by the diversity of people.
Presenter notes are included with the Powerpoint, and there are separate versions for KS1 and KS2. The assembly is designed to take about 20 minutes.
Virtues: "Regard man as a mine rich in gems"
This presentation features the story ‘The Shepherdess’s Crown’, which introduces the concept of the hidden talents and virtues (or “gems”) that are in all of us.
Presenter notes are included with the Powerpoints. There are two versions, both designed for the KS1 age group. The longer assembly includes a prayer and a poem. The song ‘My First Counsel’ is an arrangement of a verse from the Baháʼí Sacred Writings. It complements the Assembly.
The Story of The Báb
This presentation introduces the story of the Báb, the forerunner of Bahá’u’lláh, Founder of the Bahá’í Faith. It includes four short stories which illustrate, among other things, the virtues of forgiveness and courage.
Presenter notes are included within the Powerpoint, which is designed for pupils in KS1.
